When you start a save or profile action, Social Saver uses information from the supported page needed for that request. The extension sends the selected media through your browser's download flow. It does not read browser-wide history or ask for your Instagram or TikTok password.
Extension permissions
Storage
Remember settings and the chosen destination, maintain account session state, and keep limited job and completion records used for progress, recovery, and duplicate prevention.
Downloads
Start downloads you request and observe their progress and completion so Social Saver can show status and update operation records.
Offscreen document
Use an extension-owned document for selected-media handling needed by the browser download flow.
Alarms
Check pending downloads and recover bounded completion or settlement work.
Tabs
Identify and communicate with supported tabs, and open Social Saver account or settings pages.
Supported site and media access
Host access covers Instagram and TikTok pages, platform media hosts used to retrieve selected files, and the Social Saver account service. Social Saver does not request browser history, cookie access, or web-request interception permissions. This host access is used to display supported controls, identify selected content, and retrieve media you ask to save.
Data handling
For Instagram, the current extension sends only the fields allowed for the active operation; it excludes unrelated recent page observations and unknown fields. The service does not receive completed media files. See the Privacy Policy for data categories, service providers, and retention.
Authorized use
Save only content you own or are authorized to download. Read Acceptable Use and the Terms.
