Preliminary converter sizing

Start with the
electrical boundary.

Use these first-pass estimators to explore the voltage, current, magnetics and loss implications of three common SMPS topologies before a detailed design review.

Choose a topology

See what the
concept requires.

Enter a prospective operating point. The outputs help frame a technical discussion—they do not approve a component selection or confirm a buildable design.

What these tools do—and do not—establish

These calculators apply simplified, topology-specific first-pass equations. They do not establish safety, insulation coordination, component qualification, switch-node behavior, leakage effects, snubber design, controller limits, loop stability, thermal performance, EMI, layout suitability, manufacturing repeatability or regulatory compliance. A converter should be reviewed and tested against its actual controller, components, magnetics and operating conditions before it is built or released.

Turn a concept into a plan

Bring the target
and the constraints.

Share the input range, output requirement, topology preference, target volume and what you have measured. We can help define a reviewable converter and validation path.
